Hi! My name is Joshua Bovéy, and I’m an award-winning logo designer and illustrator based in Virginia. I specialize in creating timeless brand identities, custom mascots, and handcrafted visual identities that help businesses stand out, tell their story, and leave lasting impressions.

My creative journey started early. At just 15 years old, I launched my own clothing line, Bovéy, unknowingly immersing myself in branding, storytelling, and creative entrepreneurship long before I understood those concepts professionally. What began as a passion for drawing and design quickly evolved into a lifelong pursuit of building memorable brands with purpose and personality.

Today, my work is rooted in a simple philosophy: the strongest brands are built with intention, not trends. I believe great design should feel timeless, communicate clearly, and continue serving a business for years to come. Every project is thoughtfully crafted to balance strategy, creativity, and craftsmanship, resulting in work that feels distinctive, memorable, and built to last.

My design style is bold, playful, and minimalistic. I’m drawn to clean shapes, expressive typography, thoughtful illustration, and meaningful details that give every brand its own unique personality. Rather than chasing what’s popular today, I focus on creating identities that remain recognizable and relevant for years to come.

I specialize in logo design, mascot design, brand identity systems, and editorial illustration. Whether I’m developing a custom logo, illustrating a mascot, or building a complete visual identity, every project begins the same way: by understanding the people behind the business. Learning a client’s goals, audience, values, and story allows me to create work that not only looks great but also communicates the right message.

Much of my creative inspiration comes from growing up surrounded by skate culture, hand-drawn graphics, vintage packaging, and classic cartoons like The Pink Panther. Those influences continue to shape my approach today, bringing a sense of character, personality, and craftsmanship into everything I create.

My work was selected for publication in LogoLounge Book 15, recognizing my commitment to thoughtful, handcrafted logo design. While recognition is always appreciated, the most rewarding part of my work is seeing businesses confidently launch brands they’re proud to represent every day.

Outside the studio, you’ll usually find me exploring a national park, painting traditional tattoo flash, watching or playing soccer, or filling another sketchbook with ideas. Creativity isn’t something I switch on during work hours—it’s woven into everything I do, both professionally and personally.

Whether I’m helping launch a brand from the ground up or refreshing an established identity, my goal remains the same: to create meaningful work that helps businesses grow with confidence and gives people something they’ll remember.
